History

Though the Amber Homes name is relatively new, the company has been built on many years of quality homebuilding experience.

Working his way through college as a carpenter, Amber Homes President and Founder Jim Harmon made the natural transition from carpenter to home builder and land developer. After working for several established home-building and development companies in Colorado and California, Jim co-founded PrideMark Development Company a residential development company, in Denver. A few years later, after successfully establishing and then selling PrideMark, Jim saw an excellent opportunity to provide quality-built, affordable housing to a relatively untapped, niche market - first-time buyers.

Operating initially under the name Harmon Properties, LLC, the company began offering custom and "build-to-suit" homes, single and multi-family developments, and condominium and apartment developments in early 1998. The company broke ground on its first home later that year, making headway in Denver's growing home building industry.

In 1999, the company incorporated as Amber Homes, Inc. name and focused its full attention on reasonably priced housing developments. Amber Homes still operates today with the mission of building and providing affordable, well-built homes to Denver area home buyers.
